We were never in love; only in season. Because I was just another leaf in the autumn wind to
you.Withered among other women; a heap of dead leaves. Uprooted from my pure glory.
Dried out and cracked. A broken stem; I fell. My colors changed. You trampled over me.
But spring never breaks its promises. I will bloom soon.

Where Is Your Heart?

You complain, "Niggaz keep messin wit my heart!"

Truth is, they got too busy messin wit the other parts of your body, they forgot your heart was there.

He first got distracted with your right breast

And when he moved on over to the next

When he moved over to the left

He forgot your heart was buried underneath & tucked away in your chest...

When will you allow men to search your heart?

One Kiss

I saw your lips the other day and thought, "I WANNA KISS YOU!"
We're just friends
That's all I told you I want to be
And I'm not the type to go for benefits
But believe me....
YOU'LL BENEFIT!

You'll benefit from my lips,
Sweet & Sultry
Like
Milk & Honey
You won't want to leave me...
You'll want to own my lips.

One Kiss is all I want
From the succulent lower lip
Creeping one step to the upper
Our noses to cuddle
Our tongues to huddle
This kiss subtle
Soft & Pure
Finally in contact with those lips I adore
But this kiss will lead to more...

One kiss down to the bow of your chin
Our arms wrapped & tangled
Hearts nestled within
Feelings untold
Our Hearts whole,
Before they break
After discovering too many things...

One kiss, because I refuse to commit to a fling
How bout we cut to the chase...
I just want our lips to cling
I just want this kiss to be our thing
I don't want my mind wrapped around the idea of us being something...

No talking
No staring
No declaring your love for me...

A kiss quiet and quick
A kiss that will cause my hormones to evict
A kiss that will make the taste of your lips stick

One kiss
No commitment,
That's all I want from you...
But deep down,
The only way I would really kiss you, is if we promised to stay committed and true....

Foolish Heart

It's heart wrenching what they call love

Painfully jaw clenching when they think their heart beats for him...

My own foolish ways allow me to account for these acts...

No! I don't mean to criticize young hearts... I just want you to realize that the heart turns into a fool sometimes..

And the things we do for affection

Are the same things that will earn our rejection, when our hearts are going through this phase...

We spend so much time on the phone

Make so many plans to be alone

Never realizing we're wrong

Committing ourselves to long

Very long

As long as we can relationships

To prove that it isn't some "little love thing"

That this "other" isn't just my high school fling...

He's my being

No leaving

He's my cleaving

He's my feeding to my every need

My greed

I lose my mind! Literally lose it! And every thought while I'm not preoccupied involves his presence near me!

And it's wrong! It's all wrong the way we think we love another!

And we can't bother

To even conceive the thought of a break up..That would be wrong right?

Because I gave so much of myself to you

That separation would cause me to lose myself

Drive myself so far out into this road...

So LOST, I'm in a well known place, but I have no idea of where I am...

That well known place of being SINGLE

The state I was in before I knew you

But I want to get back on that main road!

That road everyone's driving on....COMMITMENT!

Giving myself to you

Seems so much better than finding out what's true...

I rather cling to you and make things temporary

And slaughter real opportunities for love on the contrary

I rather be dumb than smart....

I rather toy with my foolish, foolish heart....

Inept Infatuation

Excommunicated
Out – dated
Faded
She became something he hated

A heart changed
Mind rearranged
Becoming Estranged
Thrown away future plans of being engaged

His lies
Her cries
Emotional Highs
The “Why’s”
Questioning why the couple made their tie

Lies he made for her to believe
Her heart so easily deceived
Trained that way, making it so hard for her to leave

Her irritating nagging
And boastful bragging
The two flight – out tickets that sent him packing

The void left in her
Made his feelings for other women stir
Causing her to deeply suffer
And he being labeled an adulterer

And so finally their eyes came to see
That what was thought of as love was not meant to be
And lost and wasted energy
Could have been saved for when God chose to show them something more lovely

Her Premature Death

Her premature death left things undone

The warm smell of supper escaped
The kitchen no longer pondered on what meals she would make

The few bedrooms became depressed
The beds themselves could not rest
Knowing her hands would never make them again

Her husband never carried out the duties she left behind

The curtains remained closed all day
Furniture no longer felt the warm sun rays
Or casted its daily shadows on the wooden floors…

Her premature death left this poem unfinished….

I Remember God The Most in Autumn

I notice how even when everything in his creation is dying, beauty can still be found. I find that beauty can be found in death. This all brings me to the idea that Jesus’ death contained beauty, simply because He died for our sins. His death wasn’t something he deserved, just the same as in nature. And yet, he was brought back to life again. We find all this in spring.

Snow

I notice when it snows, the world is quieter. As if the snow were a soft white blanket that covers it’s crying baby world. All is hushed as flakes flurry down from moody clouds. Some flakes having a longer life span than others.

Birds no longer chirp, but flee. Grass no longer quivers in the wind, or brushes under feet. Instead this soft white blanket puts the ground to sleep.

And this blanket contains power: The power to bring a smile to a child’s face, bring a car to a wreck, and freeze all of nature. But yet something with so much power can dissolve so easily in ones hands.

Notice how snow is one of nature’s most fragile beauties. But look at what it can do when all the flakes stick together: A lesson of teamwork.

Our Contentious Ways...

Our contentious ways

Made it easier in the days, than it was at night

After all those fights

I fought the pillow, held it tight, right

Below my head

Eyes closed

Forcing myself to fall in love with my bed

Instead of you…

Those altercations had this power to do

The things I wish I knew I would get into

Before I gave my heart to you

Determining the Clouds

Bring your head up to the clouds and think. Now, think about these clouds that decorate our daily skies. Have you ever once considered their feelings? They are just as we are, and they can never hide their emotions. They cry rain when they are sad. They thunder and strike lightening when they feel angry. They spread out and skip around the sky on happy, sunny days.

Some days they crowd together to gain support from one another, when the disaster of a storm strikes upon them.

Other times there is not a cloud in the sky. They hide sometimes. Maybe they are resting or running from a fear. But who knows where the clouds go?

They can also be silly. Ever notice how they change into different animals and objects? They have so much character!
They are quite mellow after a storm, afraid to allow the sun to be the hero, just as we are afraid to allow Jesus the Son to take the storm of our lives away, and be our hero. But they slowly move off, and let the sun do the work of drying the wet areas.

So why don’t we allow these simple white clouds to be our example? Why don’t we allow our hero Jesus to break through and shine down on our lives? Where do the clouds go when there are blue skies?

I believe they go to Jesus.
